“Surely I’m dreaming?”, “Yes boss” – Lots of Everton fans love Ancelotti’s update

|

Lots of Everton fans have been reacting on social media after Carlo Ancelotti shared a selection of images from his first training session at Finch Farm.

Ancelotti was announced as Marco Silva’s successor on Saturday morning after he signed a four-and-a-half-year deal, reportedly worth £9million-per-year.

The Italian was only in the stands at Goodison Park as we played out a bore-draw with Arsenal at the weekend, but is now getting into the swings of things as the Toffees first-team boss as we prepare to host Burnley on Boxing Day.

Sean Dyche’s Clarets will travel to Merseyside tenth in the Premier League standings and on a two-game winning streak, while we are unbeaten in three after interim head coach Duncan Ferguson brought an instant lift to the squad.

We are still down in 15th-place, though, and defeat at home to Burnley and a win for Aston Villa against 19th-placed Norwich City would see the gap between the Blues and the relegation zone shrink to just one point.

What will the result be vs Burnley on Boxing Day?

Toffees win

Draw

Burnley win

But Ancelotti has already begun to try and get his message across to the players as he strives to open his Toffees tenure with all three points, and shared on Twitter that his first training session at Finch Farm was ‘great’.

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to Ancelotti’s post…

In other Everton news, the club have been named in a European battle to sign a €10m midfielder in January.
