With plenty of negatives to discuss following Everton’s defeat at the weekend to West Ham United as we hosted them at Goodison Park and they helped themselves to a 3-1 victory, there was a clear positive that fans could take and that was the performance of Lucas Digne.
Having arrived from Barcelona over the summer for a reported £18million, the 25-year-old has quickly started winning fans over with his attitude and efforts both on and off the pitch and although he only has four appearances to his name so far, a large number of fans are becoming more and more convinced he is the long-term replacement we’ve been after for Leighton Baines.
In fact, they are quickly becoming convinced he’ll prove to be as important in the years to come as Baines has been in the past.
On the bright side, Digne is absolute class!

Making his second Premier League start in the game, as the above comments show, his efforts down the left on both a defensive and offensive front certainly didn’t go unnoticed and it was again his crossing ability that definitely took some plaudits.
