The Word On The Tweet

‘Stop being a tease’ – These Everton fans all hope star’s cryptic Tweet is positive sign of things to come

Idrissa Gana Gueye was one of Everton’s top performers in our stunning win over Chelsea at the weekend, and the Senegalese star now has Toffees fans talking about things off the pitch again.

It is not another rumoured move to Paris Saint-Germain, though, but rather the opposite, with some of the Goodison Park faithful hoping that the 29-year-old’s post-game tweet was a hint that he is now staying on Merseyside.

The 62-cap international had initially shared a photo of his son Isaac holding the official Man of the Match award in a post hailing a fantastic team effort, to which one supporter replied asking if he was the club’s future holding midfielder.

Gueye then replied back simply saying “maybe”, but the Everton fanbase took the hint as a reason to believe, or at least hope, that he will now be staying around for longer than some may have feared.

This all comes after he made it clear when the winter market slammed shut that he was disappointed not to be able to move to the French capital and fulfil a childhood dream, and it was evident for the next few weeks that his head had been turned.

Keep up performances like that against Chelsea, and the fans who lost faith in Gueye during January will soon be back on side, alongside these supporters…
