Everton’s 3-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend with a brace of goals coming from Richarlison and a Seamus Coleman effort, saw the £50million Brazilian man take plenty of praise in the world of pundits.

One man who enjoyed a good day as well was fellow summer arrival Andre Gomes, and former Southampton attacker Matt Le Tissier picked him out for recognition on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday programme.

Speaking on Saturday after the final whistles had been blown on the 3pm kickoffs, Le Tissier explained how he’d been very impressed by the 25-year-old.

“Very good in the centre of midfield there. He looks very comfortable and gives Everton something a little bit different in that role there where he’s always looking to find forward passes in between the lines so I thought he did pretty well.”

The on-loan Barcelona man was only making his third start for the club following his summer arrival as injury kept him out until we’d moved well into the month of October, but his three showings so far have certainly brought plenty of praise from the fans for his efforts and the Portuguese player looks like he’ll be a key addition to Marco Silva’s side for the remainder of the campaign, especially as he should only get better as he continues to adjust to the division.
