Everton are starting to find their feet under Marco Silva and the early months of his reign at Goodison Park have resulted in plenty of positives.
The Toffees were not afraid to splash the cash in the summer and have reaped the rewards as a result, with Andre Gomes, Lucas Digne, Bernard and Richarlison all catching the eye – while there is plenty of optimism around Yerry Mina despite the fact he has only just returned from injury.
Behind the scenes though, it seems Everton have been naughty in their advances to sign young players for the academy and that has resulted in a two-year transfer ban for the Toffees, although it only stands for youth players.
While this could be concerning, Everton’s squad is deep enough to cope and it is unlikely that the Toffees will be hit too hard by the ban, which also included a fine of £500k, and fans on social media were not too bothered by the news.
We have gathered some of their reactions below.

If we’ve done wrong then so be it. Hopefully we’ll have signed enough of those tapped up players to see pur academy through the next 2 years

Good, the amount we waste on these signings every summer!

As soon as the club found out, they suspended him and worked alongside the PL with the investigation back in September. It seems the club were unaware and were rightly unhappy with his behaviour. This was the action of one man. £500k is a bit much compared to other clubs.
