Silva to get disappointing addition as Everton’s £65k-a/w signing bound for Goodison – report

Marco Silva is set to gain a disappointing addition in the summer unless Marcel Brands can work his magic, as Everton’s £65,000-a-week signing Sandro Ramirez is bound for Merseyside following his torrid loan spell back in Spain, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Barcelona-based daily sports newspaper have issued a scathing attack on the striker following the end of his loan spell with Real Sociedad, where he failed to score a single goal and his drought continued to stretch from his solitary strike in Royal Blue against Atalanta in the Europa League back in November 2017.

It’s not like he was short of chances in La Liga over the past year, as Txuri-urdinak boss Imanol Alguacil handed Ramirez 24 outings in the Spanish top-flight, totalling 1,047 minutes.

Now, Mundo Deportivo consider Ramirez’s time in San Sebastian ‘one of the biggest fiascos in terms of signings in the history of the entity blanquiazul’, having failed to live up the standards he set out for himself in his first press conference for Sociedad where he declared: “My speciality is the goal”.

There have only ever been two forwards who have left the Anoeta without being able to celebrate a goal in La Liga, before our 2017 signing from Malaga, with Luis Garcia Postigo failing to break his duct before Lee Chun Soo repeated the unwanted feet in 2003.

Now, we have to hope Director of Football Brands can work his magic and find someone willing to take Ramirez off our hands, as he has shown no reason as to why he should be selected ahead of Cenk Tosun or Oumar Niasse, let alone Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
