The Blues have some good young players breaking through at the moment but some seem to be struggling for minutes more than others.
Whilst Tom Davies again looks set for a busy season his good friend and fellow midfielder Kieran Dowell seems to be struggling for minutes.
A player of obvious quality, he did well on loan at Nottingham Forest last year and that evidently prompted Marco Silva to want to take a closer look at him.
However, he’s not played at all and Silva might have just hinted at an exit plan for him.
As quoted by the Echo, Silva said:
“Kieran tried some things for us and is a player who needs to play more.”
Certainly, Dowell is a decent young player but to make it at any good level you need to be playing regularly at this age.
He’s not going to get his chance for us any time soon by the look of it and so it would be best that he gets a loan at least.
