New Everton manager Marco Silva’s plans continue to take shape ahead of the coming 2018/19 Premier League campaign and although he’s managed to add two of his targets this summer, they came in the shape of backroom boys this weekend and not playing staff.

Dan Donachie comes in as our new Head of Therapy Services and Bruno Mendes sees himself appointed as Head of Performance.

Donachie was previously at Finch Farm as our Head of Medicine before he left back in 2014, and he’s most recently been Head of Medicine and Sports Science at Aston Villa. As some fans will be aware, he’s the son of former assistant manager Willie Donachie who played his role in helping us to the FA Cup in 1985.

Mendes takes up a familiar role with us from his time at Benfica. He takes up his role supporting Assistant Manager Joao Pedro Sousa, First-Team Coach Duncan Ferguson, Goalkeeping Coach Hugo Oliveira and Fitness Coach Pedro Conceiçao.

It might not have been the arrivals Everton fans were hoping for, but they will play their parts in the coming season and Donachie, in particular, was a welcome return for some fans.
