It was hoped that the September international break would see Everton’s injury worries somewhat subside but the mix of Nations League action and various friendlies haven’t actually helped our treatment room.

Theo Walcott was expected to potentially miss out on Sunday as we face West Ham United at Goodison Park owing to the rib injury he sustained before the break, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin has returned from England U21 duty with an injury – so it could well be time for us to see Ademola Lookman for a second time in 2018/19 after transfer shenanigans over the summer and his run out against Huddersfield Town.

Seamus Coleman has picked up a small stress fracture whilst with the Republic of Ireland so the 29-year-old will also miss out and likely be replaced by Jonjoe Kenny. Defensively we will also be without Yerry Mina, Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka.

Pickford,
Baines, Zouma, Holgate, Kenny,
Davies, Schneiderlin,
Bernard, Sigurdsson, Lookman,
Tosun.

There are also doubts surrounding Idrissa Gueye, Bernard and Andre Gomes as they will be assessed late on for consideration.

Richarlison remains out as he serves the last game of his ban.

There are question marks over some in that lineup, but I can see Marco Silva going back to Baines purely for the experience with Holgate and Kenny likely to be in. But when he meets with the press and gives a proper update, things may well have changed on my assumptions above and some players may have recovered slightly quicker than I’ve anticipated.
