Marco Silva has been addressing the press today ahead of our clash with Southampton this weekend as the Premier League returns to Goodison Park for another year.
After a promising performance with ten men last time out against Wolves, I expect us to do well again this weekend against a Saints side that didn’t offer much when they played Burnley.
In a double blow, though, both Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes are not yet fit enough to feature for us and so the wait for their debuts continues:

Both will be good players for us when they are fit, I think, but it’s clear that they have not really had the ideal preparation for this season.
Fortunately, we have a good squad now and so we should be able to get the result without them.
I think both are potential first-team regulars, though, so let’s hope they get up to full speed quickly.
