Sandro Ramirez’s will he, won’t he loan away from Everton came to pass late yesterday evening as he completed a move to La Liga side Real Sociedad.

It became apparent from the words of manager Marco Silva that it was the player himself who wanted the move away, presumably for greater game time, even though Silva made it clear he was in his plans and wanted him to stay – as shown by his choice for his shock midweek inclusion against Rotherham United in the EFL Cup even though from reports he was on the verge and possibly hours away from signing a deal in Spain.
Ultimately, he has now signed on at the club for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign and the 23-year-old will return to us next summer.
Reaction was certainly mixed on social media.
good luck sandro

Good luck, but all these fans saying terrible decision just because he had a half decent performance last night!! I'm sorry but like klassen the lad just isn't good enough to cut it at this level of football

Why play him if he was going? Should have given someone else a go. Pointless appearance. I would wish him luck but I don't think he needs it. He earns 100k a week!

I am quite sad as Sandro played a decisive part in our win last night and I believe he has so much potential which Everton have failed to expose. I believe he would have become a valuable squad member playing the style of football Marco expects of his players. Good luck Sandro.

Game time is understandable given recent years, so we just have to hope that if he does feature in Silva’s plans moving forward and he’s not replaced effectively in the next two windows, that the spell away benefits us as much as it does him and he can hit the ground running next pre-season and we go from there.
