Everton drew 1-1 with Tottenham on Sunday and Alex Iwobi was one of many players called out by supporters for a poor performance. The 23-year-old started on the left-wing and was guilty of making an error that led to Spurs opening the scoring.
In the 63rd minute, Iwobi played a loose pass to Yerry Mina that Dele Alli pounced on. He ran at the Everton defence and fired a low effort into the back of the net. Iwobi didn’t cover himself in glory throughout Sunday’s encounter and was criticised on social media as a result.

Really poor from Iwobi there for Alli's goal. Just a complete lack of concentration. Has just gifted them a goal #EFC #EVETOT pic.twitter.com/0uabn8a9Qt

Dreadful mistake by Iwobi. But Sidibe gets caught upfield a lot doesn’t he? And both #efc’s two centre backs a bit weak there, which is a shame as the two of them have played well #evetot

Might be unpopular, but I think Silva got it wrong taking @theowalcott off. Iwobi was having a 'mare. Interesting that Theo took the shortest route off the pitch while Atkinson allowed both Spurs players to walk across to the dugouts #EFC

Against Tottenham, the Nigerian international played for a full 90 minutes, made 46 touches, completed 79.3% of his 29 passes, created one chance, whipped in one cross, made five tackles, completed three successful dribbles, drew one foul and made one interception.
Since joining from Arsenal over the summer, Iwobi has made 12 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating three goals. The 23-year-old has operated on the left-wing and as a central attacking-midfielder, but he’s struggled for consistency.
Should Marco Silva drop Alex Iwobi for Everton's next game?
Yes
No
Whether Gylfi Sigurdsson could get the nod over Iwobi after Sunday’s showing remains to be seen, but the latter hasn’t done his chances of staying in the team any favours.
