“Sell him” – Loads of Everton fans react as player states intentions to leave Goodison Park for good

|

Loads of Everton fans have been reacting on social media, after reports by Bild claimed Jonjoe Kenny has told FC Schalke 04 players and staff that he wishes to remain in Germany next season.

Kenny moved to the Veltins Arena last year on a one-season loan deal, having featured just 15 times across all competitions during Marco Silva’s maiden term at Goodison Park.

The Liverpool-born talent has enjoyed a far better run in the side under David Wagner in Germany, with the former Huddersfield Town boss naming Kenny as his starting right-back for each of the 23 Bundesliga fixtures he has been available for.

Bild note that Kenny struck a chord with Schalke’s fans from the off with his fighting spirit, and it appears the feeling is mutual with the German publication adding that the 23-year-old has fallen in love with Die Konigsblauen.

It is alleged that Kenny has raved to teammate Weston McKennie about how he feels in Gelsenkirchen and in the Schalke side, and informed club bosses that he can imagine his future being in Germany rather than returning to Everton.

Which Everton player has scored the most Premier League goals this season?

Schalke do not have an option to buy Kenny included in the loan agreement struck with the Toffees last summer, so will have to forge negotiations with the Goodison hierarchy once the coronavirus pandemic passes.

It has previously been suggested that Everton would accept a fee of €12million (£10.5m) to release Kenny from his £15,000-per-week contract.

Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to Bild’s report, claiming Kenny does not want to return to Merseyside…

In other Everton news, a 6 ft 1 Toffees regular still has a lot of work to do to clarify his uncertain future despite his recent claims.

If Kenny wants to stay in Germany in preference to returning to Everton then sell him, if the German club cannot afford to buy him Everton must consider is he what the clubs wants as first choice if not sell him to another club that can afford the fee the club wants. My main thought is Everton should not have any player who prefers to be somewhere else
