“Seems like Souness was right” – Lots of Everton fans react to player update

|

Lots of Everton fans have been reacting on social media after it was revealed that Marco Silva had dropped Moise Kean from the squad for Saturday’s win over Southampton as a disciplinary measure for breaching club rules.

It is thought Kean was omitted from the squad, despite travelling to St. Mary’s, after he arrived late for a team meeting ahead of the clash.

The £27.5million summer signing from Juventus has since apologised for the incident and the matter is considered closed by the club, although this resembles only the latest incident for Kean.

Silva has previously been frustrated by the striker’s timekeeping, while Italy Under 21 boss Luigi Di Biagio likewise dropped Kean for disciplinary reasons in the summer for off-the-field matters.

Kean had arrived late for a team meeting ahead of Italy’s crunch Group Stage match with Belgium while representing his country at the 2019 European U21 Championship.

Liverpool legend Graeme Souness later tore into the 19-year-old while speaking on Sky Sports, questioning why Juventus would sell someone of his potential unless alarm bells were ringing in Turin.

Kean has started just four games since his arrival at Goodison Park in the summer, two in the Premier League and two in the Carabao Cup, but was taken off at half-time in his last appearance against Watford.

Does Kean have a future at Goodison Park?

Yes, absolutely

As long as he's learnt from this

No, we have to get rid

Here are some of the reactions shared to the club’s justification behind dropping Kean for Saturday’s win at Southampton…
