Everton have snapped out of their run of defeats with a win at Cardiff and a draw against Liverpool and things seem to be looking up that bit more.

Of course, this season hasn’t exactly gone well but it is clear that the Toffees have got quality and could well be on course to at least finishing the season strongly.

And, speaking to the club’s official website, the Toffees’ right-back Seamus Coleman has said that a European spot is still being aimed for.

He said:

“The manager wanted us to focus on ourselves and what we are about. We want to be doing more in an Everton shirt and, ultimately, competing for European places.”

The Champions League is out of our reach, of course, but the top seven can still be achieved with the likes of Watford and Wolves not that far away.

It’s possible the seventh-placed spot in the league will offer a path to the Europa League depending on who makes the FA Cup final this season.

And, with a gaggle of clubs involved, there is still plenty to play for this season.
