Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton exit was always going to cause a ripple effect at Everton and reports of some senior players being unhappy about the coach’s departure are already beginning to emerge.

According to The Athletic, Brazil international Richarlison is said to have taken the news of Ancelotti’s departure poorly, prompting him to consider his options this summer.

In the report, it’s suggested the forward is not the only player to have doubts over his future, with James Rodriguez’s position at the football club also said to be in doubt.

Since Ancelotti left the club, as of Friday morning no senior Everton player had posted any kind of message on social media wishing him well. A number of key members of the squad have unfollowed their former boss on their accounts too.

Richarlison’s future is said to be a big talking point in the off season following these reports and that’ll be a concern for Evertonians. According to the Liverpool Echo, contrary to some reports of interest from Real Madrid, the Merseyside club are not expecting a serious offer for the ex-Watford man from the Spanish giants.

While the forward endured his most challenging season as an Everton player in 2020-21, the 24-year-old has long been considered a crucial foundational piece for the Toffees. Despite his tender years has developed into a figurehead for the team, offering an attacking productivity and consistent work-rate out of possession.

It’s unlikely Everton would accept anything other than a massive offer for their star forward this summer. Nonetheless, if a key member of the squad is beginning to consider his options, it gives the club another big problem to solve in the coming months.
