While we’ve been comparatively inactive in the transfer window, we can expect more arrivals over the course of forthcoming weeks as we approach the transfer market’s deadline. One player who has been linked with a move to Goodison Park is Sporting’s William Carvalho, although the majority of Everton supporters are against the notion of signing the midfielder.
As the Portuguese outlet, Record, reported earlier in the week, Everton are one of the teams interested in the services of William Carvalho. The 26-year-old was allegedly closing in on a deal to sign Real Betis, but Everton’s interest in signing the Portuguese midfielder is sincere.
The Portugal midfielder is one of the numerous players who have terminated their contracts with Sporting, in what is proving to be an exceedingly tricky and troublesome summer for the Liga Nos side.
On the surface, the potential signing of Carvalho seems to be auspicious. The midfielder flaunts several desirable qualities, and he’s competent when fulfilling both of his defensive and attacking obligations.
Nonetheless, it seems that Everton fans are opposed to the notion of signing the 26-year-old, in fact, 69% of our respondents disagreed with the prospect of signing Carvalho.
