It was being reported late yesterday evening that Everton officials would be meeting with Bordeaux chairman Stephane Martin on Thursday to discuss a proposed move for winger Malcom.

The 21-year-old Brazilian joined the French Ligue 1 side back in January 2016 and Sky Sports have reported that Marco Silva has identified him as a top target ahead of the coming 2018/19 campaign and we have proposed a £30million plus add-ons deal and are willing to offer the player £80,000 a week in return for a five-year contract.

Bordeaux did refuse to sell the player last January with Gus Poyet announcing that he wouldn’t take their manager’s role on without assurances the attacker would remain with the club until at least the end of the season. Back the Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were said to be the suitors and there were also tentative links to Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Malcom did, however, conduct an interview in February of this year where he confirmed that he had a gentleman’s agreement with the side to leave this summer with their blessing and the choice of his destination was his.

I don’t know a lot about the lad other than he’s incredibly highly rated and in 70 Ligue 1 starts for his current side he has returned 20 goals, so I presume he’s a replacement for Bolasie in the main given his higher productivity return.
