According to The Times, Oumar Niasse looks on his way out of Everton this summer and ‘should have’ Cuco Martina ‘for company’. The 30-year-old has struggled for consistency in his three years at Goodison Park and has been on the periphery for the last two years.

Martina’s contract is up in the coming months and a new deal doesn’t look on the cards as he’s low down the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti, so he should be following Niasse through the exit door next month.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

David Ornstein of The Athletic says Premier League clubs have until June 24 to finalise the future of players with expiring contracts. Everton have three options – sign a new deal past 2020, extended their contract until the end of the current revised season or not sign a new deal at all.

Martina joined Everton from Southampton in 2017 and has gone on to make 28 appearances in all competitions, making two assists. The 30-year-old’s last outing in an Everton shirt came in their 2-1 defeat to Burnley (March 3, 2018), however, and he’s spent the last two years out on loan.

With Seamus Coleman, Djibril Sidibe and Jonjoe Kenny ahead of Martina in the pecking order, fans won’t miss the outcast when he leaves.
