According to Wayne Veysey of the Football Insider, Nottingham Forest have agreed a deal with Everton for Oumar Niasse, but the 29-year-old has refused to move. Forest wanted to sign Niasse on loan for the rest of the season, but Niasse is unwilling to drop down a division.

Leeds United also tried to sign Niasse but were rebuffed by the player. It’s a frustrating situation for Everton as the striker has no future at Goodison Park and will be out of contract in July. Niasse has made just two appearances for the Toffees this season, racking up 17 minutes of Premier League football.

The Senegalese international finds himself behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean and Richarlison in the pecking order, and he’s still deemed surplus to requirements even after Cenk Tosun was loaned out to Crystal Palace. But if Niasse is refusing to join a Championship side, Everton might struggle to be rid of him.

Does Niasse deserve another shot at Goodison Park?

Yes

No

His lack of football (2 Everton apps) and lack of goals (0) in 2019 isn’t going to convince top-tier clubs to make a move on him, so Niasse has a decision to make whether he wants competitive football at a lower level or wants to see out of deal on Merseyside until the summer.
