Report: Luton Town nearing a move for £23k-per-week Everton man

|

According to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider, Luton Town are nearing a move for Brendan Galloway. The £23k-per-week Everton defender could be on his way out of Goodison Park this summer after being on the periphery last season.

Galloway finds himself behind Lucas Digne and Leighton Baines in the pecking order and isn’t likely to get first-team football unless he leaves. Since joining from MK Dons in 2014, the 23-year-old has made 21 appearances in all competitions for Everton.

His last outing for the Toffees came against Carlisle United in the FA Cup on January 31, 2016. Galloway has never managed to nail down a regular spot in the Everton side due to stiff competition for places, but he’s impressed for the u23s.

The former England u21 international shone as Everton’s reserves won the Premier League 2 last season, but he has a big decision to make for the sake of his career. Galloway has one year left on his deal at Goodison Park and has an offer in front of him from the Championship.

Luton are newly promoted from League One and could endure a fight for survival in 2019/10, but Galloway may not have a lot of suitors from the second tier as a result of his lack of playing time at senior level.
