According to All Nigeria Soccer, Everton are interested in Malcolm Ebiowei and could battle Manchester United and Manchester City for his signature. The ‘highly-rated’ forward was recently released by Arsenal due to issues with his effort levels in training and attitude in the camp.
In August, he was still an Arsenal player, making his u18 debut and being called up by Nigeria ahead of the 2019 u17 World Cup. The 16-year-old has since not been offered a scholarship, however, and has parted ways with the Gunners. Ebiowei has a lot of interest in England but his parents want him to join a side overseas.
Whether Everton are genuinely looking to bring him to Goodison Park remains to be seen – Ebiowei doesn’t have the best reputation following his Arsenal exit and United appear to be leading the chase. All Nigeria Soccer says the Red Devils have already sent senior scouts to speak to the player’s father.
Nevertheless, Everton are an attractive proposition for young players. The Toffees have a thriving academy that won the Premier League 2 last season and are currently unbeaten in seven games this campaign. Time will tell if they make a move for Ebiowei, however.
