Report: Everton ‘launched negotiations’ for midfielder, ‘Ancelotti knows’ 24 y/o ‘perfectly’

According to Le10 Sport, Everton have ‘launched negotiations’ for Adrien Rabiot this summer. The 24-year-old is a player ‘Carlo Ancelotti knows perfectly’ from his time at Paris Saint-Germain, so the connection may boost Everton’s chances of landing his signature.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

Signing a midfielder is priority for Everton despite them having Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Fabian Delph, Morgan Schneiderlin, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Tom Davies at their disposal.

Schneiderlin and Sigurdsson are rumoured to be on the transfer list and Mohammed Kudus, Morgan Sanson, Allan, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Matias Vecino, Davide Frattesi and John McGinn have been cited as potential replacements.

As for Rabiot, the French international joined Juventus on a free transfer from PSG last summer and has gone on to make 24 appearances in all competitions. He struggled for playing time early on but was a regular in the final three months of the campaign.

Rabiot’s future is uncertain only 10 months after signing for the Old Lady, however, so Everton may be able to captalise. Le10 Sport say it may take a bid of around €30m for the Toffees to sign Rabiot, so he won’t break the bank.

The French international made nine appearances under Ancelotti at PSG, but it remains to be seen if he’s open to joining Everton.
