Report: Everton eye 25-year-old with four goals & assists in four Bundesliga games

|

According to Neil Fissler of the Express, Everton are interested in Yussuf Poulsen and could battle Newcastle United for the striker’s signature. Everton have struggled for goals this season and need a proven scorer like Poulsen to bolster their options up front – the 25-year-old has contributed four goals in four Bundesliga games this season.

Last season, Poulsen scored and created 19 goals in 31 games. He could bring some much-needed firepower to an impotent Everton attack. The Toffees are currently 14th in the Premier League with seven points from six games, having suffered three defeats from their last four. They’ve scored only five goals in this time and have fired blanks in 50% of their matches.

Despite having Moise Kean, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun, Everton can’t find the back of the net on a regular basis and appear to be considering a new first-choice striker based on the Express’ report. Silva is scouting Poulsen, but whether Leipzig are willing to part with their star man remains to be seen.

The Danish international will be a coveted player and won’t be sold willingly.
