Report: Everton could return for midfielder this summer, Ancelotti ‘keen to sign’ 25-year-old

|

According to Neil Fissler of the Daily Express, Everton could return for Morgan Sanson this summer as Carlo Ancelotti is ‘keen to sign’ the 25-year-old.

Sanson is believed to have an agreement in place with Olympique Marseille that would allow him to leave the club in the coming months, but Everton may have beat out West Ham, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton to procure his signature.

The Frenchy midfielder has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating eight goals. In Ligue 1, Sanson has created 28 chances, made 33 successful dribbles, completed 85.5% of his 767 passes, blocked 42 shots/passes/crosses and averaged a tackle (56) or interception (18) every 27 minutes.

It’s easy to see why Everton would be interested in the 25-year-old, but it remains to be seen if he’ll come to Goodison Park this summer. The Express say Ancelotti wanted Sanson when he was Napoli manager and was keen to sign him for Everton in January, but a deal never materialised.

The Toffees could have a midfield of Sanson, Andre Gomes, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Fabian Delph, Morgan Schneiderlin and Tom Davies next season.
