Report: Everton could lose youngster, contract expiring this summer, five clubs linked

|

According to The Sun, Everton could lose Ellis Simms this summer, with five European giants being linked with his signature. The highly-rated centre-forward is out of contract at the end of the season and could be on the move if Everton can’t tie him down to a professional contract.

Simms currently plays for the u18s and has impressed at youth level with 20 goals in 15 u18 Premier League games. The Sun say he could be rewarded with a call up to the first-team before the campaign comes to a close. The 18-year-old looks to have a bright future, but his destination this summer is unknown.

Bayern Munich, AS Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Olympique Lyonnais and Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly keen on Simms and could make a move in the coming weeks. Everton could be forced to battle it out with the five clubs to get Simms to sign a pro deal, but the player’s intentions are unknown.

A number of highly-rated English players have moved abroad recently and are reaping the rewards. Jadon Sancho left Manchester City for Dortmund and has been outstanding in the Bundesliga. Arsenal’s loaned out winger Reiss Nelson put in some fine performances in the first-half of the season at Hoffenheim too.
