|

Everton are chasing Pacos de Ferreira’s record-breaking wonderkid Matchoi Bobo Djalo, according to Football Insider.

Djalo became the youngest-ever player to feature in the Portuguese top-flight back in August, when he made his league debut for Pacos de Ferreira aged just 16-years and four-months in a Liga NOS encounter away to SL Benfica.

The right-sided forward again featured from the bench under head coach Pedro Miguel Marques da Costa Filipe the following matchday, when Djalo entered the action late on at home to CD Santa Clara.

He made his senior debut toward the end of last season by featuring against CS Maritimo in the Allianz Cup, but has not featured in any domestic competition since August.

Djalo was awarded his Portugal U17 debut in September, before making his first start in November as he helped his national side beat Albania 4-0 from a central midfield role.

His emergence for club and country is said to have sparked interest from around Europe, with Newcastle United and Serie A giants Juventus also credited with interest alongside ours.

Should we try and sign Matchoi Bobo Djalo?

Yes

No

The Toon are believed to be plotting a move to sign Djalo in January having regularly scouted the young stalwart of late, and Pacos de Ferreira are expecting offers to come their way for the rising star.

Djalo is under contract at Pacos until the summer of 2022, and is regarded as one of the best attacking talents breaking out of the latest young crop of potential stars in Portugal. He is also seen to have the hallmarks of a future senior international.

In other Everton news, a currently unemployed head coach with no Premier League experience has been linked with replacing Marco Silva at Goodison Park.
