According to the Mirror – via Sports Mole – Everton are in advanced talks to sign Lille defender Gabriel as Carlo Ancelotti looks to bolster his side in the summer window.
Now is a good time for the Blues to try and get some deals in place for when the window eventually opens up for business and it is promising that it looks as though that is exactly what the Toffees are doing.

Indeed, the report suggests that the club is in advanced talks with the player over a move from Lille and so it seems fair to argue that the Blues are closing in on their first agreement for the summer window.
Of course, it remains to be seen when all the leagues come to an end and the window is actually open but, once it is, Gabriel could be through the door.
A regular for Lille this season, the 22-year-old is highly rated and clearly has time to get even better, whilst he is valued at £19.8m by transfermarkt.
What the Blues end up paying to sign him remains to be seen, of course, but it looks as though the club is getting to a stage where the deal is looking likely and, hopefully, there’ll be more to follow once the market is up for business.
Carlo Ancelotti is capable of building an exciting side, and it looks like Gabriel could the first to come in.
