According to Pete O’Rourke of the Football Insider, Burnley are interested in a season-long loan move for Jonjoe Kenny. The 22-year-old could be granted a temporary departure so long as Everton sign a replacement to compete with Seamus Coleman at right-back in 2019/20.

The Toffees have been linked with Andre Almeida and Thomas Meunier recently, but little progress has been made. Burnley manager Sean Dyche wants Kenny to battle Phil Bardsley and Matty Lowton for a starting place at Turf Moor and may only have to cover his £0.78m-a-year/£15k-per-week wages.

The England u21 international has been short of playing time at Goodison Park in the last 12 months, racking up just 700 minutes of Premier League football. Kenny didn’t make a league appearance for Everton since mid-February and has only made the matchday squad on four occasions.

Coleman has been first-choice under Marco Silva, making 30 league appearances in 2018/19, but Everton are planning to bring in some competition. Kenny may have to wait for a right-back to be signed, but he won’t be short on options regardless.

Crystal Palace have also been linked with the defender as they consider replacements for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, so Kenny could be playing Premier League football in 2019/20.
