According to A Bola (h/t Sport Witness), Sporting may not pay £3.8m to turn Yannick Bolasie’s loan move permanent this summer and would prefer to sign the £75k-per-week man on another temporary deal.
Bolasie hasn’t set the place alight in Portugal but he’s not been a flop either. The 30-year-old has made 24 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating seven goals. He was a regular for most of the campaign before being sent off in Sporting’s Allianz Cup defeat to Braga (January 21).
The DR Congo international missed his side’s 1-0 win over Maritimo (January 27) and was left out of the matchday squad for their 1-0 defeat to Braga (February 2) and 2-1 win over Portimonense (February 9). Bolasie was an unused substitute in Sporting’s 2-0 win over Boavista on Sunday too.

He may be currently struggling for playing time under Silas, but Bolasie does have a future at the José Alvalade Stadium. A Bola say Sporting are appreciative of his efforts on loan and want him to stay another season. They just don’t believe he’s worth paying for.
