Report: Club interested in £55k-per-week Everton man, move may be on the cards in July

|

According to Fotospor, Trabzonspor are interested in Oumar Niasse and could bring the £55k-per-week man to the Şenol Güneş Stadium when his contract at Everton expires.

The 29-year-old has been on the periphery at Goodison Park for some time but rejected offers from clubs in Russia and the English Championship due to his preference to return to Turkey.

Trabzonspor could be the ideal destination for Niasse as a result. The Super Lig leaders want more backup for Alexander Sorloth and are said to have been impressed by Niasse’s past scoring record in the division – he contributed 18 goals in 34 Super Lig appearances for Akhisarspor (August 15, 2013 – July 28, 2014).

Sorloth has scored and created 28 goals in 33 games for Trabzonspor this season and still has 18 months remaining on his loan deal from Crystal Palace. The league leaders also have Daniel Sturridge who’s had a hand in 11 goals in 15 appearances. The 30-year-old’s injury problems have limited his playing time, however, and he may be lured back to England over the summer.

As a result, there could be a void for Niasse to fill. Time will tell.
