Report: Club holds talks with Everton over move for 21-year-old

|

According to Sporx, Galatasaray are interested in signing Henry Onyekuru on loan for another season. The 21-year-old joined the Turkish outfit on a last summer and has impressed enough in his temporary spell for Gala to engage in talks ahead of the 2019/10 campaign. Sport Witness say the Super Lig side have a replacement lined up if they’re unsuccessful – Trezeguet.

Onyekuru has impressed during his loan spell at the Türk Telekom Arena, scoring and creating 14 goals in 24 league games this season. The Nigerian international has struggled to get a work permit that would allow him to play for Everton, so he’s had to resort to loan moves away from Goodison Park until he’s eligible to feature.

After joining the Toffees from KAS Eupen (60 games, 30 goals, 11 assists) in 2017, Onyekuru spent last season on loan with RSC Anderlecht (28 games, 10 goals) and Gala this campaign. Marco Silva should have a scouting team keeping tabs on his progress and they’ll be impressed with the forward’s form in the last 18 months.

The 21-year-old is able to play in any position across the front three and clearly has an eye for goal. His form has attracted interest from Bayern Munich, but whether he’ll have a future at Everton remains to be seen.
