Feeney has risen through the youth ranks to the fringes of the first-team, making two appearances at senior level. As per Transfermarkt, the 21-year-old made his debut in Everton’s 5-1 defeat to Atalanta (November 23, 2017) and started in their 3-0 win over Apollon Limassol (December 7, 2017).

Feeney’s lack of playing time in recent years led to him joining Tranmere Rovers on loan, but his time at Prenton Park was cut short due to a serious hamstring injury. Cetic might have some luck signing the defender this summer when he recovers, as his contract is up in the coming months and he’s been out of favour since 2017.

The fact he was loaned out to a League One club this season highlights where his current playing level is at. Yerry Mina, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate and Lewis Gibson are ahead of Feeney in the pecking order, so a move away from Goodison Park may suit all parties.

He’s come to the end of a three-year deal signed in 2017, so Celtic won’t be dealt with resistance if they make a move.
