This week it has been reported that with the signing of Richarlison from Watford now sown up, Marcel Brands and Marco Silva have turned their attentions to Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.
The Mirror have reported that we are targeting the 21-year-old after he impressed in the Bundesliga in his first season at the club.
Zakaria only arrived in Germany last year after making the switch from Young Boys and he is under contract until 2022 so it’s expected it would take another healthy fee to secure the services of the holding midfielder. He arrived at Borussia for a reported £8million and he was part of Switzerland’s World Cup squad and has picked up 12 international caps.
The report also tentatively links us with a move for Caen winger Yann Karamoh. The 20-year-old has been out on loan at Inter Milan on a two-year deal despite being owned by the French Ligue 1 club. He’s a French Under 21 international.
With Richarlison captured, the trend does seem to be that Silva is looking for young talent that can be nurtured so we’ll have to see if there’s anything in it.
Don’t know much about them but they’re in the desirable age range. Much rather we go for these types of young players than the likes of Jack Wiltshire.

Would love Zakaria. He reminds me a lot of Dembele (from Tottenham) and is good physically. For the right price he could be a fantastic signing.

Dowell looks like he's made the back up number 10 role his own, behind siggy of course. Think he'll be getting some minutes this season for sure.
