‘Really dropped the ball there’ – Everton fan’s keen observation sparks debate among these fans

Umbro’s latest offerings for Everton’s kits have caused division among the Blues fanbase this summer, with loads of fans hating the design of our new home strip and many left uneasy by the salmon pink away kit for the 2019/20 season.

One Toffees supporter’s keen observation of Championship action on Tuesday night has now highlighted another aspect of the English sportswear manufacturer’s designs that deserved to be flagged up, and sparked debate among some fans when shared on Reddit.

While watching Hull City host Blackburn Rovers at the KCOM Stadium earlier in the week, u/cnl05 realised that the Tigers have an identical goalkeeper jersey to ours, with the only modification being the club badge.

Grant McCann’s Yorkshire side are even sponsored by Sportpesa like we are, while the dark green jersey worn by George Long between the sticks featured the same black and light green pattern that Jordan Pickford wore as he shut-out Watford on Saturday.

As it transpires, Umbro have also handed West Ham United an identical goalkeeper shirt for the 2019/20 season, while Bundesliga side FC Schalke 04 have been awarded a vibrant orange with light blue detailing version.
