According to AS (h/t Sport Witness), Real Sociedad are considering signing Sandro Ramirez on a permanent deal from Everton, despite the 23-year-old underperforming on loan at the Anoeta. Sandro has failed to score a goal or make an assist in 20 appearances, but reports from Spain say his buying option will still be triggered.

It’s worth noting that Sociedad aren’t contractually obliged to sign the centre-forward so AS’ baffling claim is all the more strange given the evidence presented this season. Sandro has been impotent in front of goal, but it isn’t for the lack of trying – with 14 shots in his last three appearances (one-per-six minutes). His accuracy, confidence and decision-making has let him down.

Everton only paid £5m for the Spaniard in 2017, but why Sociedad would sign him permanently this summer remains to be seen. The Liga outfit ensured they weren’t obliged to pay the buying option for Sandro in case his loan move didn’t go well, so it’s hard to see them going against logic after seeing the striker misfire for seven months.

The Merseysiders are desperate to part company with the striker, but the chances of Sociedad taking Sandro off their hands appear to be slim.
