Everton are one of several Premier League clubs to have been offered the chance to sign RB Leipzig midfielder Emil Forsberg, according to SportBild via Sport Witness.

Forsberg is widely seen as a legend among the Leipzig fanbase for what he has achieved at the Bundesliga outfit since his arrival in 2015, but the Swedish star has been left unsettled this season following the appointment of Julian Nagelsmann.

The 28-year-old has been awarded just ten starting roles in the German top-flight this term, while making a further six outings from the bench and playing no role in seven of Die Roten Bullen’s league fixtures.

Part of the issue for Forsberg is that there have been suggestions of a lack of application in training, while the 49-cap international is insistent that he does not need to prove himself to anyone anymore.

Leipzig may look to cut their ties with Forsberg in the summer, in which case he would be keen to forge a future in the Premier League where a clutch of sides have been offered his services.

Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Leicester City and we are all thought to have been approached to discuss a move for the midfielder, who would be available for €20million (£16.7m) as his contract is due to expire in 2021.

Forsberg provided four goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga last season, with three of his goals and four of his assists coming in the final eight games of the term following a lay-off with a groin strain.

Despite his reduced role in Nagelsmann’s plans this term, Forsberg has still managed to provide five goals and two assists in the German top-flight, as he boasts a minute per goal involvement of 113.2.

A move by Director of Football Marcel Brands to bring Forsberg to Goodison Park would offer boss Carlo Ancelotti a versatile and creative midfielder, given the 28-year-old’s record in front of the goal and ability to play as the wide-left option as well as centrally behind a striker.

Gylfi Sigurdsson has played a similar role on Merseyside since his arrival at the club from Swansea City, though may find himself out of a job with Forsberg at Goodison Park given the Icelandic’s struggles replicating his form in the centre when on the wing.

Ancelotti is also expected to persist with his 4-4-2 system next season, which would not be an issue for Forsberg but could easily be one for Sigurdsson.

In other Everton news, the club are reportedly interested in a 6 ft 3 midfielder subject of a €20m bid from a Premier League club.
