Premier League side keen on completing £40m deal with Everton

|

Everton are in the market for new additions in the January transfer window to bolster Marco Silva’s squad and one area where improvements are required is in the final third, where the Toffees lack depth.

A number of names have been floating around as potential signings for the Merseyside outfit and The Daily Star states Premier League rivals Chelsea are keen to take advantage of the situation by offloading Michy Batshuayi in a £4om switch.

The Belgium international has spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Valencia but has struggled to rekindle the sort of form that saw him shine during his stint with Borussia Dortmund at the second half of last term.

Amidst all this, Chelsea are also in the market for a new addition in the final third to bolster their top four ambitions and offloading Batshuayi would help to raise funds – although it is not clear whether Everton are keen on a deal.

Any agreement would have to be permanent as Everton already have defender Kurt Zouma on loan from the Blues and Premier League regulations would not allow another temporary deal.
