Everton have a difficult decision to make on the futures of Seamus Coleman, Djibril Sidibe and Jonjoe Kenny.
Coleman has been a regular under Carlo Ancelotti and has two more years on his deal at Goodison Park, but he isn’t getting any younger and may have added competition if the Toffees bring in another right-back this summer.
Sidibe has spent the season on loan but may not have his buying option triggered as his form spiralled in 2020. Kenny doesn’t want to stay at Everton this summer either, so the 23-year-old could be on his way out in the coming months.
Sidibe joined Everton from AS Monaco last summer and went on to make 24 appearances in all competitions before the season was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Kenny has impressed on loan at Schalke 04 and has manager David Wagner wanting to retain his services for another year. He recently told Sky Sports: “(Kenny) has done great for us since we signed him on loan.
“He’s a regular starter, he’s scored and given assists and he’s a great bloke as well. He’s highly respected in the dressing room and from our supporters.
“It looks like we won’t have the financial power to buy him and if Everton like to sell him then we are more or less chanceless. We are very keen to keep him at our club, and if there is a chance to extend the loan then obviously we’d like to speak.
“But with all the clubs it’s difficult to have conversations because nobody knows how much money we’ll have next season and in the summer and this makes it difficult to negotiate anything at the moment.”
With Everton being linked with Olympique Marseille’s Bouna Sarr, Atletico Madrid’s Santiago Arias, Torino’s Ola Aina and FC Porto’s Jesus Corona, the door may be open to Sidibe and Kenny leaving.
