With news breaking about a potential meeting between Everton officials and Bordeaux chairman Stephane Martin over the possible transfer of Brazilian Malcom between the two sides, it’s certainly created a debate on social media.

Reports Suggest Thursday Meeting Set With Everton Over Brazilian Winger

To save repeating the whole story, it’s being suggested – as per the above link – that Marco Silva has identified the French Ligue 1 player as someone who can bolster our attacking options in the season of 2018/19 and officials from both clubs are set to discuss our approach on Thursday.

Last season the 21-year-old made 36 appearances across all competitions for Bordeaux, returning 12 goals in the process as he continued to impress many with his talents.

With the last January transfer window linking him strongly with a potential move to both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, agreement was stuck between the player and the club that would see him remain with them until at least the summer, and then they would honour a transfer and he basically has his pick of whoever comes in and agrees to the fee they want for him to move on.

The fact he’s Brazilian has started some ‘he will/won’t be the best Brazilian in Merseyside’ chatter but hands down the best tweet has to be the understated:

It took me a minute – I think I need another coffee.
