Everton played out a 2-2 draw with Watford on Monday evening in a game that was full of drama, although it left many Toffees fans frustrated.
The hosts took the lead through Richarlison but were pegged back in the second half when Seamus Coleman diverted the ball into his own net at the start of a manic few minutes which then saw Abdoulaye Doucoure fire the visitors ahead and Gylfi Sigurdsson miss a penalty.
Marco Silva’s side snatched a point right at the death from Lucas Digne’s stunning free-kick, his first goal for the club since arriving from LaLiga champions Barcelona in the summer, but the general consensus was that it was another two points dropped.
Everton had previously draw with Newcastle United at Goodison Park last week, a result which came just days after losing to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby, and fans on social media expressed their belief that Digne’s goal was fortunate and underserved given the overall performance of the side.
We have gathered some of their comments below.
Papering over the cracks!
2 points at home against Watford and Newcastle is not good enough!— Simon Hodson (@HodsonSimon72) December 10, 2018
@LucasDigne is Baines in the making.
Nice curler tho!— PaaQwesie Quintana (@Payjiez) December 10, 2018

Still a rubbish performance and 2 points dropped . 2 points from 2 winnable home games . Disappointed

We can’t blame the players at all, it’s Silva’s stupid tactics and game plans. This guy is just like Bobby Brown Shoes with his tip for passing, nothing more infuriating than seeing Mina and Keane come to the side of the box everytime for a pass from Pickford

Good goal but how many of us actually celebrated it. Deserved absolutely nothing out of that !!!

This will Always happen if you get satisfied with 1-0. Everton should have won both Newcastle and Watford. Awful.

Digne with a beauty to bail out a point, but an embarrassing, lifeless performance today & vs NewCastle dropping precious points at Goodison. The squad better get their heads on straight #EFC #COYB
