Everton secured a decent result on Sunday against Maurizio Sarri’s unbeaten Chelsea side but the aftermath of the fixture has led to some concerns.

Influential midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson will not be on international duty with Iceland due to an injury sustained in the goalless draw at Stamford Bridge, which saw him leave West London in a protective boot.

The former Swansea City ace picked up the injury after a crunching tackle from Jorginho, which saw the Italy international booked by referee Kevin Friend, but the update on Sigurdsson’s fitness elevates the debate about whether the Chelsea man should have been dismissed.

Marco Silva’s main priority now will be learning how long Sigurdsson will be out of action for and fans will hope it is not as serious as it initially looked, with a clash against arch-rivals Liverpool right around the corner.

However, some fans were left fearing the worst after the injury update and we have gathered some of the best reactions below.
