Adam Jones of the Liverpool Echo believes Yannick Bolasie could be on his way out of Everton before the summer transfer window closes, but he may not be a realistic target for Celtic.

The 30-year-old would set Celtic back £5m – which is 42% of their summer spend. Bolasie also has wage demands of £3.9m-a-year – £3m more than Celtic’s average salary.

Bolasie’s inconsistent form since joining Everton might be of concern to Celtic too – the DR Congo international has scored and created only six goals in 32 games in all competitions and hasn’t featured for the Toffees since May 2018.

In the last 12 months, Bolasie has spent time on loan at Aston Villa (August 25, 2018 – January 21, 2019) and RSC Anderlecht (January 31, 2019 – June 30, 2019) but didn’t do enough to earn himself a permanent move.

Due to his injury woes in recent years, the 30-year-old may have peaked in his career, so it’s hard to see Celtic paying so much money for a player no longer at his best.

The Hoops have Scott Sinclair, Daniel Arzani, Mikey Johnston, Marian Shved, Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Lewis Morgan who can operate on the wing, so they may be able to cope without signing Bolasie.
