Opinion: Marco Silva could start 27-year-old Everton man in fifth consecutive match

|

Djibril Sidibe has impressed since being given the nod by Marco Silva in October and should start his fifth consecutive Premier League match on Saturday as a result. Everton’s have turned things around since the 27-year-old was introduced to the first-team, so they’ll be hoping he can continue being a good omen when Norwich City come to Goodison Park.

Sidibe has made seven appearances in all competitions this season, five of which have come in the Premier League. After joining on loan from AS Monaco in August, he had to wait two months before making his league debut – coming off the bench in Everton’s 1-0 defeat to Burnley (October 5).

The French international has started at right-back ever since, taking advantage of Seamus Coleman’s suspension, and results have picked up. Sidibe played a full 90 minutes in Everton’s 2-0 win over West Ham United (October 19), 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion (October 26), 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur (November 3) and 2-1 win over Southampton (November 9).
