Opinion: Everton could sell 30-year-old next summer, here’s why

|

Morgan Schneiderlin may have an uncertain future at Everton when the season comes to a close. The 30-year-old is regularly playing under Marco Silva in 2019/20, but his form has been inconsistent and Everton have better options in midfield when everyone’s fit.

The Toffees don’t ever seem to win when Schneiderlin features either. The French international has made seven Premier League appearances this campaign and has been on the winning side just once (14%). Everton have lost 71% of their league games that Schneiderlin has featured in.

And in the five games he’s missed, Silva’s men have picked up three wins (60%), one draw (20%) and one loss (20%). Despite Schneiderlin being a defensive-midfielder, Everton have conceded 12 goals in seven games (1.71 goals-per-game) and have kept only one clean sheet (14%).

Should Everton offload Morgan Schneiderlin next summer?

Yes

No

As per WhoScored, the 30-year-old has racked up 566 minutes of Premier League football, picked up two yellow cards & one red, given away 13 fouls and been dribbled past 11 times. When Silva has Fabian Delph, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Andre Gomes and Tom Davies at his disposal, Schneiderlin is unlikely to get much playing time.
