Yannick Bolasie has an uncertain future at Sporting CP after struggling for playing time in recent weeks. The 30-year-old joined the Liga NOS club on a season-long loan in September and made an instant impact with two goals and two assists in his first seven appearances, but his form has since spiralled.

Bolasie has made 22 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring and creating six goals. He hasn’t scored a goal or made an assist since Sporting’s 4-0 win over Santa Clara (December 16, 2019), however, and hasn’t played since being sent off in their Allianz Cup semi-final defeat to Braga (January 21, 2020).

The DR Congo international was suspended for Sporting’s 1-0 win over Maritimo (January 27) and left out of the matchday squad in their league defeat to Braga (February 2) and 2-1 win over Portimonense (February 9). And according to Record (h/t Sport Witness), Bolasie may not join the club permanently.

Sporting have the option to sign the £75k-per-week man for £3.8m but may not trigger the release clause if he’s not performing well and playing regularly.
