‘One of the worst signings we ever made’ – Some Everton fans glad to see 6ft man linked with exit

Some Everton supporters are glad to see reports suggesting Yannick Bolasie is attracting the interest of three Super Lig sides, who could take the 6ft winger off our hands this summer.

The DR Congo international is expected to be made available for a permanent transfer, having fallen horrifically out of favour at Goodison Park. However, our previous asking price had frozen the 30-year-old out of a move, but that has reportedly been lowered to spark greater interest in his services.

It seems to have worked, as well, as Goal understand Galatasaray have joined Besiktas and Trabzonspor in vying for the 35-cap international’s signature, who will make a decision on his future following the Africa Cup of Nations.

The new transfer fee in mind is thought to be £7million, although none of the aforementioned Turkish outfits have yet presented the Toffees with an official offer at that amount, despite the expectation that they will meet Bolasie’s £75,000-a-week contract.

Newcastle and Southampton had also shown signs of interest following Bolasie’s stronger run of form while on loan with RSC Anderlecht, where he scored six goals in 17 games, but are not seen as the frontrunners for his signature.

The former Crystal Palace star could even join one of the three Super Lig outfits as early as the first week of July, but the deal could be pushed back until the later stages of the month if DR Congo are able to reach the final rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations.

While most fans regret how things turned out with Bolasie and his injuries, there are not many who would say no to the 30-year-old leaving the club this summer…
