Everton suffered a disappointing result on Monday evening against Watford after being held to a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park.

The clash against the Hornets saw Gerard Deulofeu return to face his former side, coming off the bench for the final half hour.

Former Barcelona man Deulofeu spent two years at Everton on a permanent basis, having enjoyed a previous spell on loan from the Catalan giants in 2013-14, but fell down the pecking order – joining AC Milan on loan before returning to LaLiga.

After joining Watford in January on a temporary basis, Deulofeu made his spell in the Premier League permanent once again in the summer by joining the Hornets for the new season and he spoke about his time at Everton prior to the match.

The 24-year-old revealed he was never given a reason for being dropped by former boss Ronald Koeman and added that Everton will always be in his heart, which earned a response from some supporters.

We have gathered some of their comments below.
