Everton have given an injury update on Theo Walcott, revealing the 31-year-old will miss Wednesday’s meeting with Norwich City as he’s still recovering from abdominal surgery. Walcott missed Everton’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool after going under the knife last week and is expected to be out until July, so fans may not see a lot of the wide-man before the season comes to a close.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

Walcott has made 25/35 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring one goal and making three assists. The England international has only amassed 1069 minutes of Premier League football stretched across 21 games (51 minutes on average), as he’s struggled to hold down a starting place.

Reports earlier in the campaign suggested that Carlo Ancelotti was considering axeing the 31-year-old due to his low goal output and Everton have been linked with Cengiz Under, Wilfried Zaha, Memphis Depay, Jose Callejon, Rafa Silva, Jack Grealish, Everton Cebolinha Soares, Philippe Coutinho and Jesse Lingard as potential replacements.

Since joining Everton from Arsenal in 2018, Walcott has averaged one goal every eight games and one assist every 10 games – 79 appearances, 10 goals and 8 assists is his total tally. He cost the Toffees more than £20m and hasn’t come close to paying it back, so it wouldn’t be a shock if he was made available for sale.

Whether any club are willing to sign an injury-hit player earning £5.2m-a-year/£100k-a-week for so much money remains to be seen, however.
