Official: Everton midfielder could return to face Fulham, has recovered from injury

|

Everton have confirmed that Morgan Schneiderlin could face Fulham on Saturday after recovering from an ankle injury. The 29-year-old missed Everton’s last two Premier League games against West Ham United and Arsenal, making just one appearance in the top flight since March 3.

Schneiderlin has been short of playing time this season due to stiff competition for places and may have an uncertain future at Goodison Park this summer. The French international has found himself on the periphery due to Idrissa Gueye, Tom Davies and Andre Gomes being ahead of him in the pecking order, but he could make the matchday squad against Fulham over the weekend.

The former Manchester United man has made a total of 12 appearances this season, 10 of which have come in the Premier League. In 475 minutes of football, the midfielder has made 10 clearances, won 18 aerial duels (75% success), averaged 32 passes with 86% accuracy and has averaged a tackle (12) or interception (10) every 22 minutes.

Everton are big favourites to pick up all three points at Craven Cottage, with Marco Silva’s men boasting three consecutive wins against Chelsea (2-0), West Ham (2-0) and Arsenal (1-0). Fulham are already-relegated, have suffered nine consecutive defeats and have lost their last four home games.
